First Day Out

My neighbor Lee drove me to Christ Church at 3:00 in the afternoon to meet the van.  Rev. Chris Arveson from the Bluefield area drove the Spring Heights 15 passenger van with a baggage trailer hooked to the back all the way to D.C., picking up passengers along the way.  We stayed at the Cumberland Suites hotel near Dulles Airport.  My roommate for the trip was my friend Jan Blount.  I think all of us spent the evening rearranging items in our luggage to conform with the new rules due to the terrorist attack earlier in the week.  We took the opportunity to get a shower and a good night's rest before we started out the next day.
